Description

This is a stock card from vintage-visions
[link] It is very hard to color a picture like this because it is so small and so much of the original detail is missing. The "PC" mark in the lower right corner means it was published in Paris probably between 1920 and 1940. By the look I'm going to guess the late 20's. Again I'm guessing but it appears that this is a scan of a lithograph rather than a photograph and some detail was lost there. It was then converted to JPEG which dA uses to save space but that too is a lossy format. In order to color the picture I had to convert it to bitmap and then back to JPEG, more loss. I have read the post of many colorists of dA and none of them seem happy with their results. I just thought I would share my thoughts on the matter and say "buck up, what's the point of doing something if it doesn't fight back a little?"
